I once had a dream that was narrated. It was awesome, like poetry. I woke up, wrote down "to dance in the nordic light," and then I went back to sleep. : P
Yes, my little crab is dancing in the nordic light for me! : D
I wish all my dreams were that awesome. But my last one involved me at Walmart, and telling people, "Sorry, I have a soccer match to go to." (I think my little bro influenced my dream here, because I was sleeping in my living room. He told me that while I was sleeping, he was telling our mom that he had dreamt he was playing soccer.) LOL. It would have been awesome if my soccer match was against him! Crazyyyyy
Haha! WalMart dreams are epic... It'd be awesome if you were dueling him in your sleep. It's like Nintendo Wii wifi when you guys are dreaming about soccer in the same room
It's not so much that I believe in oral tradition, but that I writing doesn't occur to me when I'm truly excited. Either way, I've only written a dream down once, years after I had the dream. As I see it, when I need to remember a dream I will remember it, and it's nice that the retelling gets better every time.
My dreams are usually sh*t-your-pants scary. For real.
Ooh, "writing doesn't occur to me when I'm truly excited". That's hard for me to invision, since I'm the spastic kind of person that wants to grab a camera or a piece of paper to jot down a note whenever something really exciting gets to me. Always preparing for the future with my horrible memory span in mind.
"and it's nice that the retelling gets better every time." Good words!
And yeah, you can curse here. "Shit" isn't very bad of a word, at least not in today's standards. I don't think DA has censoring.. though I remember WoW did when I was typing "kk" and went overboard with the K's. Ah, fun times.
Lately I've been writing my ideas down more often, because I realized that as an English major I don't do nearly enough writing, but I've been so tired lately that I've been having boring dreams or no dreams at all.
But yeah, a couple of my dreams have stuck with me for years, and maybe sometime soon I will write them down, or paint them or something.
Shit! haHA! (those bastard 'k's! I've had that problem before.)
I remember every single one of my dreams. It both fascinates and disappoints me how the vast majority of my friends, whenever I ask them, always reply, "I don't remember."
It seems so alien.
My dreams tend to be recollections of events, such as something that happened to me in school or a few years ago even, or they'll revolve around issues that either worry me or are just causes for concern, such as the mental health of a friend or a presentation I'm going to do.
Occasionally, and wonderfully, I'll be blessed with a dream that's fantastic and whimsical, revolving around pure fantasy and desire. Even my characters, which is interesting, as I never used to dream about them before.
Then there are the dreams that are just downright odd and it must be my subconcious' sense of humor coming into play.
Even more interestingly, I haven't had a true nightmare in years. Yes, I'll have a disturbing or weird dream, but nothing so bad it scares me into waking. I'm still trying to figure out why this is. Am I content with my life? Does nothing scare me? That would be bull, as I'm pretty paranoid.
Overall, I love the fact I always recollect my dreams and I want nothing more than to start a dream blog and dedicate a quick illustration to each one. They teach me a lot about what's on my mind. It'd be great painting practice. I just need to get Photoshop permanently.
